clement hurd, goodnight moon and the runaway bunny

Children’s stories come to life with: Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny

Lourdes’ Theater Vision arts education program presents a production from the same company that brought the award winning Very Hungry Caterpillar to life. Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s production of Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny will delight audiences with a masterful blend of puppetry, scenic effects and evocative original music.
Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny are both children’s books written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. The poetic story of Goodnight Moon depicts a young bunny moving through his nighttime ritual of saying goodnight to everything around him.

The Runaway Bunny is a tale about a young bunny who runs away from home and his mother who searches to find him. Both stories feature endearing characters and soothing rhythms of bunny banter and dream-like imagery. Mermaid Theatre’s adaptation of Brown’s popular books brings a new sense of appreciation for the stories that have delighted children for several generations.

Presented by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, audiences can see Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009, and at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

All Theater Vision performances are held in the Franciscan Theatre of Lourdes College. Tickets $8 per person. Call 419-824-3999.
